Beyond the Bowl: A Bespoke Private Dining Experience by Khao

Our recent bespoke private event was exactly that — a fully curated buffet experience designed from the ground up, tailored to the client’s vision, and executed with Khao’s signature touch.

A Menu, Reimagined

For this event, we stepped beyond our everyday offerings to create a spread that felt elevated, thoughtful, and just a little unexpected.

Guests were welcomed with a selection of off-the-menu starters, each crafted to spark curiosity and conversation:

-       Pork Tostada – our premium umami pork belly layered on a thin, crisp cracker, inspired by the original taco, delivering a satisfying contrast of crunch and richness

-       Prawns Kueh Pie Tee – topped with delicate edible flowers, adding a visual flourish to a fresh and vibrant bite

-       Roasted Fish & Cucumber Tartlets – light and refreshing, offering a clean, balanced finish

-       Veggie Chaat – Dahi bhalla-inspired take on our signature veggie patty, served in a delicate boat for an elevated balance of tangy, creamy, and spiced flavours

Each piece was designed not just to taste good, but to feel considered — bringing together textures, flavours, and visual appeal in every bite.

A Live Experience: Khao Pao Pockets Station

To bring an interactive element to the event, we introduced a live Khao Pao Pockets station, where our team prepared hot paos on the spot for guests.

Served fresh and warm, the paos came in freshly baked pita breads alongside our signature flavours — pork, chicken, or tofu — allowing guests to enjoy them at their best, straight from the station. The live setup added energy to the space, creating a moment of engagement while showcasing the craft behind each bite.

It’s these live elements that turn a meal into an experience — where guests don’t just eat, but connect with the food as it’s being made.

The result was a setup that felt refined yet inviting — where every detail, from the flow of the buffet to the visual presentation, was thoughtfully considered.

Beyond the food and styling, what truly brought the experience together was our on-ground Khao service.

Our service staff was present throughout the event to ensure everything flowed effortlessly - maintaining the buffet and ensuring dishes were served at their best. It’s these quiet, behind-the-scenes touches that make a celebration feel smooth, polished, and well taken care of.
